Deputy Director Light Rail Vehicle Maintenance

Kimberly Woollard is the Deputy Director of Light Rail Maintenance Division- for Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) in Boston, MA.  She has a demonstrated history of working in the transportation and railroad industry for over 15 years. Her innate ability to manage, resolve, lead, and direct quickly has propelled her into management. Her levels of responsibility include oversight, contract compliance &, engineering project management, project controls, capital improvement planning, and quality assurance/control.
Kim directs a Light Rail Maintenance & Engineering staff of over 200 employees in four maintenance facilities. Her Division maintains and supports the MBTA's 200+ Light Rail Vehicles on the Green Line as well as the PCC cars on the Mattapan High Speed Line, as well as several Work Trains.
The MBTA has now defined a long term improvement path that could lead to a doubling of the carrying capacity of the Green Line from its current 228,000 riders per weekday .A  few projects she is involved with which will undoubtedly change the shape and history of Green Line is the vehicle acceptance of the new CAF Type 9 car; Implement and install a positive train control system (GLTP); "Type 10" vehicles which will be 100% low-floor-accessible and double the passenger capacity; Green Line Extension and a new VMF (vehicle maintenance facility)
Kimberly currently serves on APTA's International Rail Rodeo Committee and Rail Transit Committee, and is a member of WTS.
